Beautiful location directly on the Main. You can pick up wine to go and enjoy the view of the city and around it. The wine is sold directly from a window and is fine.

Always the same as a short vacation. Unfortunately almost always waiting times if you don't make a reservation. Essen has never disappointed me.

We ordered 2 half blown ducks. It felt like a quail was delivered. The meat was cooked for a long time or reheated and was therefore very fibrous. Never again. The Nikolaushof can do that much better. The one in the picture should be 2 half = 1 whole duck. That I don't laugh. It's a shame that the quality can deteriorate. The side dishes were ok. We will not visit the restaurant again

Romantically located directly on the Main with good cuisine and friendly, brisk service.

We have made a binding reservation online and have received confirmation that the kitchen will be open until 10 p.m. on the same day. Due to our long journey, we were there at 8:30 p.m. and we were not informed that the kitchen would close at 8:30 p.m.

Very good kitchen, super friendly and competent service. With pleasure and again and again. Corona requirements are implemented very well. Digitization has arrived here. Reservation online and above all registration via QR code / smartphone. No annoying entries in lists ...

The welcome was a bit chilled (probably / hopefully due to stress), but then excellent service (a room was opened for us because everything else was occupied and our service was quick, friendly and had a sense of humor) and the food was very, very tasty. Prices are absolutely reasonable and the atmosphere is very nice! Highly recommended, we'd love to come back :-)

First we were shooed off the table, then we looked for a seat in the lower part of the restaurant and waited in vain for the staff there for 15 minutes. In the end we went and organized a wine at the restaurant next to the Mainmühle. The location is great, but the friendliness of the staff leaves a lot to be desired.

The staff was always very friendly, nice and quick. If the guests weren't always so cheeky and impudent to the passers-by and cyclists who want to pass the old Main Bridge ... Possibly. serve alcohol-free wine and sparkling wine so that there is a change in the character of the guests.

Arrived at this restaurant at lunchtime during a stopover in Würzburg. Ambience, sat outside, is nice and relaxing. The waitress was always on the go and had also messed up something at the next table. I had a small salad which, unfortunately, was way too oily for me so that I couldn't eat everything. My husband had sausages with sauerkraut, he thought it was delicious. Conclusion: If you have a lot of time and don't mind the hustle and bustle with a harsh tone, you are in good hands there.

Good Franconian food and extremely friendly service. A pleasure with a view of the Marienberg Fortress! Next to it is the Alte Mainbrücke, where you can enjoy many a glass of wine.

The ambience is very nice, the view from the window is fantastic. The waitress didn't smile at lunchtime. The food was expensive and unfortunately nothing special, not to say mediocre in terms of quality ... had a fish platter and my companion a citizen. Therefore only 4 stars.

Wonderful view of the Main and the festivals. Seats outside or in nice niches by the window are possible. The food is good and ranges from Franconian to modern cuisine. Prices reasonable for a tourist attraction. Service was very friendly and courteous. All around a successful lunch.

We had a really unpleasant experience with the waiter that came to collect the payment. She asked for a tip and when we said we weren't going to tip her (in Germany it is not customary to leave a tip and the prices listed in the menu where already quite expensive on their own) she pretended that she didn't understand us (we spoke in English with her) and kept asking how much would we tip her. Finally we gave up and tipped her because we wanted to leave and didn't want to have an argument, and she understood at once that we agreed to the tip. Rest of the waiters were kind and attentive.

Great location and friendly service. A must for tourists to Würzburg! The entire location is given an open, inviting flair through 2 terraces one above the other and guest rooms with large windows behind them. Food is good, the price according to the location.

Good attractive restaurant with a potential view of the fortress. The service was very casual and friendly. The food and drinks came promptly and at least our selection was good and recommended. Despite the current restrictions, I highly recommend a visit, but I strongly recommend that you reserve online beforehand.

I decided to go in there after verifying reviews over 3,000 people with an average 4.3 star rating and I can realise why peoples are big fans for this oldest restament ? Nice snd friendly staffs and most tasty foods in there.. my family want to visit again Würzburg to remind the food.....

Good food, lovely atmosphere. It gives off this "old new/new old vibe", absolutely love it. The food has great quality and is cooked fresh. I would recommend making a reservation as it can get busy during dinner times. 100 percent recommended place, great romantic dinner location.

Very well tasting selection of food - took a while to arrive but was totally worth it when it did! The cosy little bunks in the window niches with a view of the Würzburg Castle are especially cool. Would recommend for a special occasion - otherwise just grab a takeaway sausage in a bun

Perfect location, friendly staff.. right on rhein river with fort view.. grab a wine and walk the bridge..

Rude staff, we called told them we were two with a baby and they said to come. We got there and obviously the fact that we had our baby in the stroller bothered them so they basically refused to give us a table even though they had some free.

Delicious, nice ambience, attentive, friendly and helpful service. The food arrived pleasingly fast, was hot and tasty. The Sauerbraten tasted very good and special requests the team was not overwhelmed. Gladly again.

The service and the wines were excellent, but the rest was just a disappointment! We ordered the potato and the chestnut soup, which were nice, and for our main dish we ordered the goose. The meat was dry and hard , so we commented it nicely to the waitress. After she talked we the chef, she said that the course could be changed for a better one and that the chef would try his best . The result was to be brought the same dish back , after 15’ minutes of heating , totally dry , and the crust (that we had taken out first ) burnt. They had also turned the meat over in order to fool us , which is such a shame. We were charged the dish (21,50 euros) , told that there has been a misunderstanding, and that they thought we wanted the meat better cooked. We paid our fee , tipped the waitress and left. The following photo is from the first dish . We were so angry when the second arrived that unfortunately we did not take a photo again .

Nice view from the terrace

We were waiting for food 1 hour (after 14h), food was average, toilettes were very dirty. But place is nice inside, all dishes are regional. To try maybe once, better drink wine outside.

Great seating on the balcony with a spectacular view onto the river and the old bridge, fantastic menu and great food, very good wine and beer selection, friendly staff, great service. We enjoyed a gorgeous dinner with a great dessert! Check out the seasonal menu!
